They are officially out of the playoffs! The Bengals blew a chance at the post season by missing a short field goal and letting the Steelers score in overtime. I can't even begin to explain the emotional roller-coaster I was on yesterday. At times, I wanted to leave the house and at others, I was bouncing around my living room like a ten year old boy getting his Christmas wish! So,we needed to win the game against the Steelers and have one of two scenarios happen: 1) The NY Jets lose to the Oakland Raiders.....uh, yeah like that was going to happen or 2) Kansas City defeat Jacksonville (Chiefs did win) and San Fransisco defeat Denver (26-23 in OT). So not only did we blow it by not beating the Steelers, everything would have been ours for the taking. Errr.....I was so angry last night.
But I thought back on the season we had, we didn't play or act like we deserved it. Multiple players being arrested, blowing a 21 point lead against the Chargers, and getting a horrible roughing the passer call against the Buccaneers, missing the extra point in Denver. The team needs to reflect on this past season and hopefully change their attitude for next season. We need to make some character changes and get help on the defensive side of the ball.
Now I'm going to sit back and enjoy the Pro-Bowl game (Go Carson, Go Chad) and await the 2007 draft in April.
